    What’s The Deal?

    Wondering why we’re making all these resources available free of cost? Here’s the short answer: We think it’s important to enable women entrepreneurs. 

    When women own businesses, economies grow, employment rates rise and social trajectories change for the better. Here are some statistics to show you where we are and where we could be.

    Where we are

    Despite all the talk about empowerment, women in entrepreneurship in India account for only 3% of GDP in the country [1]. What’s more, only 2% of all equity funding raised in 2017 [2] went to startups with a woman founder.

    Shocking, right? That’s not all:

    Of the 58.5 million+
    establishments in
    the operation, only 15.4
    % are led by women.[3]

    Of the approximately 432
    million working-age
    women in India, about
    343 million are not in paid
    formal work.[4]

    Women graduates are more than 3.5 times more likely than their male peers to be unemployed.[5]

    The Aspire For Her -
    Project Naveli Partnership

    EntrepreNaari is a joint initiative by Aspire For Her and Project Naveli.

    Aspire For Her is an impact-driven gender-diversity initiative — and our mission is to help women become financially independent and successful within the professional space. By the year 2025, we hope to impact over 1 million women and enable them to add $5 billion+ to India’s GDP. Of course, we could not ignore the importance of enabling women’s entrepreneurship to achieve this mission.

    Project Naveli is a non-profit initiative by Navya Naveli Nanda, that aims to reduce gender inequality and create more social and economic opportunities for women. This initiative operates in four major areas — economic independence, education, mental and physical health, and domestic violence.

    Given our similar goals and vision, we saw some obvious advantages in teaming up and creating a network for women entrepreneurs together. And that’s how EntrepreNaari was born.

    A gender equal world has always been Navya’s dream — and she set out to make that happen through entrepreneurship and social activism. She set up Aara Health — a technology-driven platform that promotes women’s health and wellness. Soon after, she established Project Naveli, a non-profit initiative that works to bridge the gender gap that still exists today.
